Sri Lanka exporters secure orders for organic products at BioFach in Nuremberg

ECONOMYNEXT – Nine Sri Lankan export companies that promoted the island’s certified organic agricultural products among international buyers at BioFach 2025, held in Nuremberg, Germany, were able to secure orders, the country’s trade body said.
“The companies have secured more than USD 0.2 Mn worth confirmed orders at the trade fair itself and orders worth more than USD 0.83 Mn under negotiation stage,” Sri Lanka Export Development Board (EDB) said in a statement.
BioFach 2025, an annual international organic trade fair, provided a platform for organic producers, exporters, and buyers from around the world to connect, exchange business opportunities, and explore the latest trends in the organic industry.
The local export companies showcased a range of certified organic agricultural products, including food and beverages, spices, tea, coconut-based products, fruits and vegetables, and Protected Geographical Indication (PGI) certified Ceylon Cinnamon products, EDB said.
Ellawala Horticulture, Bespice, Ranre International, Jayanath Spices, Waguruwela Oil Mills, Ceylon Exports and Trading, Aikya Agro, People’s Organisation for Development Import and Export, and Ceylon Coco Green Manufacturing participated.
“By participating in BioFach 2025, Sri Lanka reaffirmed its commitment to expanding its organic exports and strengthening its presence in the global organic market.
