Orient Overseas Container Line (OOCL) and Yang Ming have announced a new container service connecting China with Thailand.
The new service will commence on 10 January from the port of Shanghai, offering a 21-day round-trip with fixed weekly sailings.
The port rotation of the new service will be Shanghai (China) – Ningbo (China) – Xiamen (China) – Nansha (China) – Laem Chabang (Thailand) – Shekou (China) – Shanghai.
The service, branded as China Laem Chabang Service (CHL2) by OOCL and China-Thailand Express (CTE) by Yang Ming, is expected to boost the presence of both companies in the intra-Asia market.
“The CTE service will provide customers with flexible, reliable, and high-quality container shipping solutions,” said Yang Ming, while OOCL stated, “CHL2 will further optimize our network coverage between East China, South China and Thailand, featuring competitive transit times and enhancing service reliability alongside the existing CHL suite services.”
