Alibaba teams up with Maersk on container shipping services
The two companies have agreed to integrate Maersk’s LCL and FCL container shipping services directly into Alibaba’s platform, providing direct access to transparent and cost-effective shipping solutions especially for small and medium-sized enterprises.
This integration allows business buyers on Alibaba.com to book shipping services easily and eliminate complexities to provide real-time pricing on bulk shipments. The buyers and sellers will be able to select Maersk’s shipping and logistics services online synchronously via Alibaba.com platform.
“With the application in various markets of Europe, US and Asia Pacific regions, the cooperation with enlarge the orderbook scale and reduce logistics costs by around 10% to create a win-win logistics ecosystem,” commented Alibaba.com.
